Humberto Fernandez - Executive Creative Director

Originating from Rio de Janeiro, Humberto Fernandez set out on his advertising journey 28 years ago. His rapid ascent at Africa DDB Brazil in 2006 was noteworthy; from starting as a Senior Art Director, he swiftly transitioned to the role of Creative Director for esteemed accounts like Banco Itaú and Mitsubishi Motors. By 2013, his adept management of key accounts such as VIVO and Anheuser-Busch InBev earned him the title of #1 Art Director by Lüerzer’s Archive.

In 2016, Humberto joined J. Walter Thompson Brazil as ECD. Here, he led the agency to remarkable accomplishments, including accolades in Cannes, while serving powerhouse brands like Coca-Cola and Heineken. His exceptional craftsmanship led him to be highlighted among the top 20 ECDs worldwide by the Big Won Report that year.

By 2018, Humberto embraced a new challenge with Heads SP, a startup that remarkably secured high-profile clients in its first year. After a stint with Africa DDB in 2019 and contributing substantially to FCB Health NY in 2021, Humberto took a momentous step in his career.

In August 2022, Humberto was invited by Luiz Sanchez, CCO of BBDO North America and Partner/Chairman and CCO at AlmapBBDO, to join BBDO NY as Executive Creative Director. In this role, he has been pivotal in guiding flagship brands including M&M's, Pedigree, Snickers, Meta, WhatsApp, Bayer, and Heineken.

Throughout his illustrious career, Humberto has secured numerous industry accolades, including 29 Cannes Lions and 13 The One Show awards. His diverse experience spans leading agencies, consistently collaborating with the most significant advertisers in Brazil.
